About Me About Me
Thank you for visiting Catherine Davies' miniature heaven of dolls house food, flowers and knitting.

Catherine has always been passionate about craftwork and social history. These interests were brought together with the purchase of a large Victorian dollshouse in 1/12th (1") scale.

The kitchen needed to be stocked with miniature food, and the whole dollhouse furnished. It was the discovery of Polymer clay (Fimo) that eventually led to a full larder, largely comprised of her own hand made items.

Catherine had experimented with all types of miniature food using a variety of techniques and has now gone on to include miniature flowers in her extensive range which also encompasses miniature cakes, sandwiches, desserts and complete meals such as full English breakfasts and plum crumble! Her creations are frequently displayed in a variety of elegant hand-blown glass and ceramic vases and pots. Her collection is forever expanding and Catherine has recently started to develop her skills with scale railway modelling accessories.

Information on new lines of miniatures and models will be included under "News" as they become available.

To create soft furnishings for her Victorian dollhouse inevitably led Catherine to adapt her full-sized knitting, and she now hand-crafts many miniature knitted items using the finest of knitting needles, wools, cottons and silks to grace any dollshouse setting.

Catherine has written many articles for "Dolls and Miniature Scene" magazine, the latest being a project on how to make an "Easter Tulip Nest Basket" (May 2011, Issue 203). She has also made a "spring garden in an ostrich egg". (See under "Gallery" for pictures.)

Each item for sale is individually hand-crafted, and unless specified, will be the item that you purchase.
